U.K. Jobs for U.K. Workers*

Whilst much of the economic down turn is World Wide and the U.K. should not be isolationist it is absolute folly that British Workers are being laid off and foreign workers (including workers from the European Community) are used as a source of cheap labour. There are many jobs that could be filled by British Workers if only the wages were realistic.

*If you were born or have a U.K. Passport then you are a U.K. citizen whatever you ethnic background!

We seek an end to home repossessions. Provided people are paying something it is surely better to keep them in their homes. Rather than talking to the banks the Government should be telling them that they couldn't repossess.

Curbs on so called debt advice businesses - People are sold extended loans they can't afford, thus worsening the problem. The promotion of by Central and Local Government of alternative financial organisations such as Credit Unionsd and nationally the re-mutualisation of former building societies.

Economy

It is clear that the economy is in a lot worse shape than we are being told.

House prices

These are likey to drop by 30% of their value before the end of this year to that of December 2007

Interest rates

Reductions in interest rates by the Bank of England must be passed on to borrowers & protection offered to home owners not in a position to pay their mortgages.

Food Prices

If this results in people not wasting food and thinking about what they are buying then it will be no bad thing. However the incomes of the less well of need to be increased to compensate.
